This blog is designed to house my thoughts, questions, and other material on theology. Bogoslov is the Russian word for “theologian”. I’m neither Russian, nor a theologian. I am a priest in the Eastern Orthodox Christian Church, and part of the Orthodox Church in America, which finds roots in the Russian traditions. I don’t know if anyone will find this at all helpful, but I’m putting it out there for all to see, comment on, etc. Your comments and thoughts are very, very welcome.

Theology is knowledge of God.  Heady stuff.  Yet I believe God is the Lord and has revealed himself to us – and this blog is an exploration of that revelation, its impact on life and society, and the meaning of life.  This blog makes some foundational steps of faith.  I will proceed with the assumptions that God exists, and that he is our creator.  I can’t prove that, but I believe it, so it is foundational to the rest of the thoughts.  If you don’t agree, that’s fine, but you won’t be allowed to use that as an argument.

Hopefully, this will help me become a better human.  That is the purpose, at least.  If others are edified or have thoughts provoked, well, that’s a side benefit.  Enjoy!
